Denise Trowbridge writes stories that save people money. Whether it's how to spend less on a new car or how to shave $50 a month off of your utility bills, she has written hundreds of compelling, consumer-driven personal finance and business stories.
But that isn't all. She's also turned her passion for organic gardening into a stint as the Sunday garden columnist for the city's daily newspaper. It's just as much fun to teach people how to grow garlic as it is to tell them how to avoid paying fees for their checking accounts.
At the moment, Denise is a business columnist for the Columbus Dispatch. Her column "On Restaurants," about the city's restaurant industry, appears in the newspaper every Tuesday. Her gardening articles appear in the Sunday edition. She is also the family finance columnist for Columbus Parent, a monthly magazine, and blogs about money at Middle Path Finance. She also writes personal finance features for Bankrate.com.
She worked as a stringer for Bloomberg, the financial news wire service, covering securities fraud trials in federal court in 2008 and 2009.
Before moving to Ohio in 2005, Denise was the assistant editor of the award-winning New Orleans CityLife magazine, contributing writer for New Orleans CityBusiness and its Northshore Report, and managing editor of New Orleans Homes & Lifestyles magazine. She is a former contributing editor to Louisiana Homes & Gardens.
She has also written for
AirTran AirWay's Go Magazine, Bankrate.com, Bloomberg, the Dallas Morning News, John Deere Approach, the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette, Mardi Gras Magazine, New Orleans CityBusiness, New Orleans Gourmet, New Orleans Magazine, and OffBeat (Louisiana's music magazine).
Her photography has appeared in the Columbus Dispatch, Louisiana Homes & Gardens, New Orleans CityLife, and the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette.
